Michael Colter Gates, M.D.

Biography:

Although born in Anchorage, AK, my childhood was largely spent in the small northeastern Louisiana town of Columbia. After high school I moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU A&M. After completing my undergraduate education I relocated to Houston, TX to pursue a career working for a large petroleum service company before redirecting my focus towards medicine and attending Ross University School of Medicine. I returned to Louisiana for to do an internship in surgery with LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and later moved to Shreveport for my residency in diagnostic radiology. I pursued a fellowship at the University of Colorado in Abdominal Imaging before returning to Shreveport to begin work with Red River Consultants. My specialties interest include MRI, CT, and ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis. My after work focus generally revolves around being a dedicated husband to my lovely wife and proud father of young twins. I also enjoy reading, bicycling, and fishing.
